To anyone with kids of any age, or anyone who has ever been a kid,
here's some advice Bill Gates recently dished out at a high school
speech about things they did not learn in school.

He talks about how feel-good politically correct teachings have created
a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept sets
them up for failure in the real world.

Here's what he said:

Rule 1: Life is not fair--get used to it.

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem.
The world will expect you to accomplish something
BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year
right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president
with a car phone, until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
He doesn't have tenure.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.
Your grandparents had a different word for burger
flipping--they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine
about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as
they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning
your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are.
So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your
parents' generation, try de-lousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers,
but life has not. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades
and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer.
This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off
and very few employers are interested in helping you "find yourself."
You'll have to do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have
to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Consider the fact that Barack Hussein Obama embraces Jeremiah Wright, a man who has preached the most vile racial hatred and anti-American sentiments from the pulpit for twenty years, while at the same time Barack Hussein Obama accuses decent hard-working Americans of bigotry when he says things like, "It's not surprising that they get bitter. They cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them... ."

Consider the fact that Barack Hussein Obama's wife Michelle said that her husband's candidacy marked, "the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country."

But what really makes "President Barack Hussein Obama" the scariest four words in the English language is that fact that HE CAN BECOME THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

While the media would love to extend the news cycle as far as humanly possible throughout the primary season, the truth of the matter is that unless Hillary Clinton pulls off some kind of mathematical miracle, Barack Hussein Obama will go to the Democratic National Convention with more delegates.

And, with the exception of the Jeremiah Wright story, the liberal media has basically given Barack Hussein Obama a free pass -- and will continue to give him a free pass!

Moreover, Socialist billionaire George Soros of MoveOn.org fame, and some of his cronies, have already spent millions of dollars and recently pledged to spend millions more to put this obscure first term United States Senator from Chicago into the White House.

The dirty little secret about Barack Obama's indictment of flyover country is that he said what liberals, including Hillary Clinton, believe. Sufficient proof of this can be found in the liberal outrage at Wednesday night's Democratic presidential debate, where Obama was pressed both by the moderators and Clinton to explain Bitter-gate, Wright-gate, Ayers-gate and Flag pin-gate.
Consider the uncannily similar reactions of columnists Tom Shales and Stephen Silver.
Shales expressed indignation that ABC News moderators Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos would dare ask Obama to justify his insulting remarks about small-town Americans and his relationships with certain anti-American people.
Shale's fumed, "For the first 52 minutes … Gibson and Stephanopoulos dwelled entirely on specious and gossipy trivia that already has been hashed and rehashed, in the hope of getting the candidates to claw at one another over disputes that are no longer news. Some were barely news to begin with."
Shales was particularly perturbed that Stephanopoulos "came up with such tired tripe as a charge that Obama once associated with a nutty bomb-throwing anarchist."

Last year, I told you about self-anointed medical "expert," Jenny McCarthy.
Yup, the same Jenny McCarthy who has a medical degree from the Hugh Hefner School of Advanced Silicone Medicine and Porn Sciences. And don't forget her valuable medical expertise gleaned from her days hosting MTV's "Singled Out" and her current scientific gig "dating" (euphemism) Jim Carrey.
Because her son is autistic, she looked for something to blame it on, and . . . voila, "child vaccines cause autism." At least, that's her theory and that held by a growing group of alarmists with the same medical "expertise" as McCarthy. And it's frightening parents from giving their kids necessary vaccines against diseases that are now making a comeback because of Jenny's Bimbo Science. McCarthy and her ilk have succeeded in persuading otherwise responsible parents to retreat back to the Stone Age when it comes to their children's health and available preventative medical treatments. Who knew that taking off your pants for the world (that's how McCarthy reached the D-list) would cause modern pediatric medicine to regress decades?
It's like a scene from the movie, "Idiocracy."

We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude. His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of "Change" or that he says he will be a "Uniter". The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma and both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions. On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler inspired millions and the results were catastrophic. Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for many Americans out there feeling just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, the real story is what happens when it hits shore.

He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.

Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government.

In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing.

Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as a minimum wage affair.

Admitted marijuana and cocaine use in high school and in college.
His religious convictions are very murky.

He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations.

Opposed the Patriot Act.

First bill he signed that was passed was campaign finance reform.

Voted No on prohibiting law suits against gun manufacturers.

Supports universal healthcare.

Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.

Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.

Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.

Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform. Would result in 20 million instant citizens never having paid SS, many refusing to speak English, immediately sending for their 40 to 50 million extended relatives telling them not to wait and obey the laws, the once mighty USA is theirs for the taking.

Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.

Wants to make the minimum wage a "living wage".

Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes.

Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.

Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid.

He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax.

He voted No on repealing the "Death" Tax.

He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax.

Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded.

He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing

If your political choices are consistent with Barack Obama's and you think that his positions will bring America together or make it a better place, then you will probably enjoy the ride and not forward this Email. If you are like most Americans that after examining what he stands for, are truly not in line with his record, it would be prudent to get off the wave or better yet, never get on, before it comes on shore and undermines the very foundations of this great Country. Kennedy Dumps Fuel into Nantucket Sound

Ted Kennedy has called Nantucket Sound near his Massachusetts estate “a national treasure” — but that didn’t stop the senator from having oil dumped from his yacht into its waters.

The local photographer was so shocked by the oil slick coming from Kennedy’s yacht Mya that he rowed his dinghy out to question the crew member left aboard. News Max

As Newsmax reported earlier, Kennedy has opposed a proposal to construct a wind farm in Nantucket Sound to produce cheap, clean energy. Asked why, he said: “That’s where I sail.”

The Cape Wind Project would erect 130 windmills in Nantucket Sound and could provide three-fourths of the power needed by Cape Cod and nearby islands, which is now largely supplied by coal-fired plants.

But the project had a powerful enemy in Sen. Kennedy, who has voiced strong support for alternative energy projects - as long as they are not in his backyard.

"The problem was not aesthetic; the Kennedys wouldn't be able to actually see the turbines from their home. Instead Robert Kennedy Jr., who had been beating the drum for alternative sources of energy for more than a decade, complained that the project would be built in one of the family's favorite sailing and yachting areas."

In a famous scene from “A Few Good Men,” Nicholson, via his character, declares, “There's nothing sexier than saluting a woman.”

The latest example is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to let the House go on vacation rather than take a vote on extending the Protect America Act. The act updates surveillance laws to take into account technological changes and give telecommunication companies immunity from lawsuits over their cooperation with the government.

If a missed telephone conversation or email intercept contained clues to a plot to detonate nuclear devices in Manhattan and Washington — al Qaida’s No. 1 goal — the government would have no way of knowing before both cities were wiped out.

The London Daily express recalls the photograph of polar bears clinging on to a melting iceberg which has been widely hailed as proof of the need to fight climate change and has been used by former Vice President Al Gore during his "Inconvenient Truth" lectures about mankind’s alleged impact on the global climate.

Gore fails to mention that the photograph was taken in the month of August when melting is normal. Or that the polar bear population has soared in recent years.

As the Express notes, scientists are saying the northern Hemisphere has endured its coldest winter in decades, adding that snow cover across the area is at its greatest since 1966. The newspaper cites the one exception — Western Europe, which had, until the weekend when temperatures plunged to as low as -10 C in some places, been basking in unseasonably warm weather.

Around the world, vast areas have been buried under some of the heaviest snowfalls in decades. Central and southern China, the United States, and Canada were hit hard by snowstorms. In China, snowfall was so heavy that over 100,000 houses collapsed under the weight of snow.

Jerusalem, Damascus, Amman, and northern Saudi Arabia report the heaviest falls in years and below-zero temperatures. In Afghanistan, snow and freezing weather killed 120 people. Even Baghdad had a snowstorm, the first in the memory of most residents.

Danish Newspapers Reprint Satirical Muhammed Cartoon
Stating they were taking a defiant stand in defense of freedom of speech, newspapers in Denmark have reprinted one of the notorious satirical cartoons of Muhammed that caused a storm of violent protest in the Muslim world over two years ago.

The decision to reprint, taken on Wednesday by 15 Danish newspapers and one in Sweden, came in response to news that Danish police had arrested three Muslim men suspected of plotting to murder Kurt Westergaard, who drew one of the cartoons. The papers thereupon reprinted that very cartoon, which depicts Muhammed with a bomb in his turban.

The FBI released Tuesday a warning for Internet users:

If you unexpectedly receive a Valentine’s Day e-card, be careful. It may not be from a secret admirer, but instead might contain the Storm Worm virus.

With the holiday approaching, be on the lookout for spam e-mails spreading the Storm Worm malicious software (malware). The e-mail directs the recipient to click on a link to retrieve the electronic greeting card (e-card). Once the user clicks on the link, malware is downloaded to the Internet-connected device and causes it to become infected and part of the Storm Worm botnet. A botnet is a network of compromised machines under the control of a single user. Botnets are typically set up to facilitate criminal activity such as spam e-mail, identity theft, denial of service attacks, and spreading malware to other machines on the Internet.

The Storm Worm virus has capitalized on various holidays in the last year by sending millions of e-mails advertising an e-card link within the text of the spam e-mail. Valentine's Day has been identified as the next target.

Be wary of any e-mail received from an unknown sender. Do not open any unsolicited e-mail and do not click on any links provided.

Taxpayers Fund Bambi’s Bridge
It appears that some California lawmakers have been watching too many Disney movies lately. A recent decision leads us to believe that they view local animals to be as human as the wisecracking, emotional animal characters in Disney movies. As a result, transportation money is being spent on four-legged travelers rather than those on four-wheels.

According to the Los Angeles Times (October 10, 2007), “a proposal for a $455,000 animal path over the 405 Freeway has riled residents….” The overpass is strangely not winning over the locals. “[They] say scarce transportation dollars should not be used to help deer and bobcats get around while humans remain stuck in endless traffic.” Have people forgotten that animals hate getting stuck in traffic, too?

The overpass won’t rile the animals, as they won’t even have to see the cars below- “traffic makes creatures skittish, [so] the bridge plan includes a 5-foot-high wall to block their view of the freeway and a 3-foot wall blocking their view of the bridge roadway.” Nice thoughts, but how will they even know to use the overpass? A local resident asked, ‘What are they going to do, have Doctor Doolittle standing there directing animals to the bridge?’” If Dr. Doolittle can’t, someone could hire The Lion King’s Mufasa to authoritatively direct the animals.

A magical kingdom full of animals could merit the construction of this overpass but, “[a biologist] said wildlife surveys show that at any time, there are about 15 bobcats between the 405 and 101 freeways, possibly 30 to 35 bobcats west of the 405 as far as Topanga Canyon and 135 to 160 deer in areas on both sides of the freeway.” It doesn’t sound like there are enough Bambis and Simbas to need an overpass. Instead, there surely are enough people who would be happy to sleep, sell drugs, and do other unspeakable acts in the safe confines of the overpass, scaring potential animal crossers away.

Other statistics challenge the need for the overpass. “There are other spots where animals can cross under or over the freeway…and ‘there is no documentation that animals are using them.’” Have these lawmakers been around wild animals before? You don’t have to be an expert to know that they are threatened by people and loud, moving vehicles. After all, opposition to the overpass has said, “[t]he secret of success is not expecting animals to behave like people.”

Obviously, the concept of an animal overpass is not reality-based, will not work, and should be stopped. If only the people who voted for the overpass could prioritize like Senator Margett (R-Arcadia): “We’ve got to take care of people first.” Our transportation bonds are being aimlessly spent like fairy dust on animals misperceived to be humanlike. It’s time for government to leave the world of make believe and spend tax dollars responsibly.

New Film Documents Horrors Along Mexican Border

A new documentary paints a shocking but true picture of illegal immigration along America’s border with Mexico.

The film “Border” is directed by Chris Burgard, an actor whose credits include “JAG” and “Growing Pains.” It premiered in August at the Liberty Film Festival and is now being circulated nationally.

According to the film’s Web site, “‘Border’ takes you on a journey from state to state and exposes a failed system and a failed policy. Burgard’s courageous journey includes powerful footage in the border crossing regions of America where dead bodies, armed Mexican military incursions, ‘rape trees,’ and drug traffickers are commonplace.”

In an interview with FrontPage magazine, Burgard was asked what inspired him to undertake the sometimes dangerous job of filming illegal immigration.

He said he beagan his arduous journey after hearing horror stories on the news and from other sources: “I first started hearing about the rapes on the border and how the ‘drogandos’ would put guns to people’s heads and say, ‘You are going to carry this backpack of drugs into America or we are going to kill you and leave you in the desert . . .

“Also at this time there was a group called the Minute Men Civil Defense Corps that was doing a big operation on the Southern border. Presidente Arbusto called them vigilantes.

“My wife says that I am a news and History Channel junky. I think she finally got so tired of my . . . complaining and said do something. So she motivated me to get my butt off the couch, grab a camera, and go see for myself what was going on on the border.”

The film is shot largely along the border and contains images of dead and decaying illegal immigrants, many that local ranchers say were murdered by human traffickers who raped them or forced them to bring drugs across the border.

Asked what most “surprised” him while making the film, Burgard said: “Rape trees . . . Armed men in uniform from Mexico using mule trains to smuggle tons of contraband into America . . .

“Rancher after rancher living behind razor wire. Ranch after ranch on the verge of bankruptcy due to the illegal traffic, vandalism, and drug cartels that are flooding their land. Dead bodies so numerous that border counties are going broke just paying for all the coroner inquests.”

But Burgard added: “I am convinced that we have more than enough tools in the shed to secure the border whenever we want to. It is a matter of choosing not to.”

A search of Chinatown donors yesterday by The Post found several bogus addresses and some contributions that raised eyebrows.

Shin K. Cheng is listed twice in federal records for giving $1,000 donations to Clinton's campaign on April 17.

But the address recorded on campaign reports is a clinic for sexually transmitted diseases, hemorrhoids and skin disease.

Senate Democrats passed a $648-billion defense authorization for next year, complete with $142 billion for fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, $950 million for military healthcare, and $23.6 billion for protecting armored vehicles from roadside bombs, the primary cause of American casualties in Iraq. Democrats are still playing games with defense funding, despite twice having fallen short of their goal of surrender in Iraq.

Barely a week after questions emerged about suspicious donations to Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, a three-judge panel in California will hear arguments Friday regarding an illegal fundraising event from her 2000 Senate campaign.

The California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District, will hear arguments about whether Clinton, a New York senator and leading Democratic presidential candidate, should be a defendant in a lawsuit brought by Hollywood mogul Peter Paul.

Attorneys for each side will also debate the inclusion of a videotape as evidence -- a video in which Clinton can be heard apparently agreeing to plan a fundraiser, which was later determined to be illegal by the Federal Elections Commission (FEC).

NBC Will Stop Fred Thompson Reruns
If Fred Thompson announces his intention to run for the White House, NBC-TV is prepared to stop showing reruns of the “Law & Order” episodes he appears in because of Federal Communication Commission regulations.

Those rules allow presidential candidates to demand equal time if an opponent appears on TV. Stations did not air Ronald Reagan’s films or TV appearances when he ran for president in 1980, nor did they broadcast Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicles during his run for California governor in 2003.

But with “Law & Order,” there a catch: The show is syndicated on the cable station TNT, which does not have to abide by the equal time rule because cable stations don’t use the public airwaves, The New York Times points out.

However, TNT could choose to stop showing Thompson episodes voluntarily, just as cable networks did during Schwarzenegger’s campaign.

In May, Thompson told NBC he did not want to appear in any new “Law & Order” episodes, and his final episode was rerun on Aug. 5.

As the media has reported today, this sets the stage for a major showdown in Washington, D.C. on September 15th when the report on "the surge" by Gen. David Petraeus is to be delivered to Congress.

Two Brookings Institution guys -- these are leftists, by the way -- saying, "Hey, we are winning in Iraq." Feingold also said, (paraphrasing) "I don't care. I don't see any evidence. I'm just not going to accept the president's word." This is going to be a big problem for the left because these two guys just got back from Iraq, they say the surge is working, it's showing great promise. July 31, 2007 Lieberman escalates attack on Iraq critics

Vigilant American "John Does" may soon be safe from lawsuits - and safer from terrorists - thanks to Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-I, Conn.) and a key provision in the security bill that cleared Congress on Friday.

It borders on the obvious: Citizens who report suspicious activity in good faith to the authorities shouldn't have to fear being sued by whoever they finger, even - indeed, especially - if they were mistaken.

Ordinary Americans have foiled terrorist plots through their good sense and vigilance - most notably the recent bid to attack Fort Dix - and national security can't afford for anything to discourage them from performing this most basic civic duty.

So when six suspiciously acting Muslim imams filed a lawsuit against the passengers whose tips to authorities had them removed from a flight last November, Congress took up the matter.

Rep. Pete King (R-L.I.) co-sponsored an amendment to a transportation-security bill (soon merged with a measure to implement recommendations of the 9/11 Commission) that would protect those passengers - and others like them - from legal liability.

The measure passed the House by a vote of 304 to 121. A similar amendment (but to a different bill) drew nearly 60 votes in the Senate it looked like what some bloggers were calling "the Death Caucus" had killed the measure, but a hero stepped forward at the last minute to save it: Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, Senate chair of the conference committee.

In concert with Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., he restored the John Doe protection to the final bill. It should go back to both houses, and then on to President Bush, in early August.

While it only applies to individuals, and thus permits the imams' suit against US Airways to proceed, that corporation is big enough to defend itself -- and it's hard to imagine a jury of Americans finding the airline guilty.

There's also an interesting sidelight to the case. Led by blogger Michelle Malkin, an Internet-based "We are John Doe" campaign developed to support the amendment.

Her "John Doe Manifesto" says in part, "Dear Muslim Terrorist Plotter/Planner/Funder/Enabler/Apologist: You do not know me. But I am on the lookout for you. You are my enemy. And I am yours.

"I am John Doe. I will act when officials ask me to 'report suspicious activity.'

"I will embrace my local police department's admonition: 'If you see something, say something.' I am John Doe.

"I will put my family's safety above sensitivity. I will put my country above multiculturalism. I will not submit to your will. I will not be intimidated. I am John Doe." A victory for common sense

Kennedy Jr. to discuss Kennedy's charge, from the stage of Saturday's "Live Earth" concert in New Jersey, that the ABC anchor, as well as Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, have been "lying" about global warming and are "toadies" for corporations.

Stossel charged that some of Kennedy's comments about the environment are "silly" and brought up a number of big scares that have been promoted in recent years, some by environmentalists, that have turned out not to materialize. Asked by Cavuto if ignoring the issue may make it worse, Stossel responded: "Well, it's possible. U.S. Senate Immigration Roll Call Votes Immigration Bill CrushedThe Senate drove a stake Thursday through President Bush's plan to legalize millions of unlawful immigrants, likely postponing major action on immigration until after the 2008 elections.

The bill's supporters fell 14 votes short of the 60 needed to limit debate and clear the way for final passage of the legislation, which critics assailed as offering amnesty to illegal immigrants. The vote was 46 to 53 in favor of limiting the debate.

The legislation would be a significant victory for Presidente Arbusto in his second term in office. Bush Administration officials are saying that the President will throw all of his influence this week into persuading the 38 GOP Senators who voted against amnesty last week that they were wrong.

Pres. Bush said this weekend that he understands that a lot of Americans and Senators have trouble with a deal that allows legalization of 12-20 million illegal aliens in exchange for heavy-duty enforcement in the future.

He says he understands that many Americans don't trust that the Federal government will live up to the enforcement end of the bargain because of past failure to do so.

But Pres. Bush says he will go to Capitol Hill Tuesday, look the Republicans in the eye and assure them that they can trust him to see that all enforcement happens.

There is something terribly strange about his whole argument.

It is as if the President who has refused to enforce most immigration laws the last six years is somebody other than himself.

In addition, Pres. Bush appears to be saying, "You can trust me to enforce the law if you approve the amnesty" but he is suggesting that without passing the amnesty the illegal immigration problem is going to grow far worse because the President won't be enforcing the law!

And he wonders why people don't trust him?

When you are calling GOP Senators, (202-224-3121) you may want to remind them that they may not want to switch their immigration position to follow Pres. Bush's leadership since his unpopularity is the reason they are now in the Senate minority in the first place. NumbersUSA
