PSA: VA Prescription Co-Pays Increase by $1
Co-payments for outpatient medicines prescribed through Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities will rise by $1, according to an announcement today by VA. The $1 increase for a 30-day supply of prescription drugs will take effect on January 1, 2006. The increase to $8 for a 30-day supply of prescription drugs is required by federal law, and is based on increases in the Medical Consumer Price Index. Veterans in "Priority Group 1" - those veterans who have an injury or illness connected with their military service resulting in a 50 percent or greater disability will not be affected by the co-payment increase. Not all prescription drugs will be subject to the $1 increase.

This doesn't seem like much, but I don't like it at all.
We should write off the prescription cost for our Vets in need......Take the funds out of the $$ to the U.N., Zimbabwe, etc.
Most Vets have other primary insurance coverage, and should use this to cover their insurance and prescription needs......But those who have nothing else should not be made to pay squat.
It's the least we can do for those who have made it possible for us to live in peace.......In a world filled with shitheads who'd love to end our peace.

Have a great Thanksgiving Julius.
