FYI: 2-CENT POSTAL HIKE LOOMS
A postal regulatory commission proposed a 2-cent increase in the cost of mailing a letter yesterday and urged the U.S. Postal Service to launch a "forever" stamp valid for first-class postage even when rates rise.
The proposal to increase the postage to 41 cents was a penny less than the USPS had requested.
The commission recommended a 26-cent rate for post cards, also a penny less than the USPS had sought.
If the USPS governors accept the recommendations, the new rates could be implemented in 60 days.
The article in the New York Post gives no explaination from the USPS as to why a rate raise is necessary.
Could it be?
Most people do not write letters they use email.
People pay their bills online or electronically.
Credit cards, utilities, phone, etc.
Or could it be the number of paid holidays?
Are you paid for All of these?
Like gas and orange juice we're getting ripped of again.
