EVOLUTION OF DEMOCRACIES
"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will contiue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.
The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years,
these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
- From bondage to spiritual faith;
- From spiritual faith to great courage;
- From courage to liberty;
- From liberty to abundance;
- From abundance to complacency;
- From complacency to apathy;
- From apathy to dependence;
- From dependence back into bondage."
Alexander Tyler, Cycle of Democracy (1770)
If we continue to vote for socialist Democrats we will soon be at number 8.

That's great stuff.......It proved true in Greece. No reason it wouldn't here.
He forgot #9: Civil War.
Which leads back to #1 if the right side wins out........If they lose they stay at #8.
Answer to the poll about parties, NO.......Look at what more than two party systems have done worldwide. 2 is bad. More is worse.
Your right about #9.
I read somewhere on the net that some Conservative republicans want to form a new conservative party.
That's why the poll.
But it's not getting much action so I think I'll remove it.
