PSA: New Online Military Records Request
The National Personnel Records Center is working to make it easier for veterans with computers and Internet access to get copies of documents from their military files. Military veterans and the next of kin of deceased former military members may now use a new online military personnel records system to request documents, including Discharge Documents DD 214. Because the requester will be asked to supply all information essential for NPRC to process the request, delays that normally occur will be minimized. The new web-based application was designed to provide better service on these requests by eliminating the records center's mailroom processing time. Former military personnel and their dependents can get more information at the National Archives website.
VA Health Care Beats Private Sector
Veterans continue to be more satisfied with their health care than the average American, according to an annual report on customer satisfaction that compares the Department of Veterans Affairs health care system with private-sector health care. The ratings came in the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index, which ranks "customer satisfaction" with various federal programs and private-sector industries. The latest findings mark the sixth consecutive year VA's health care system has outranked the private sector for customer satisfaction. Health care is just one of many potential benefits available to those who served in our nation's armed forces. If you served, or know someone who did, check on eligibility for benefits and services from VA at: http://www.va.gov or call 1-800-827-1000.
I can personally vouch for this. I have been under the care of the VA Medical Center, Loma Linda for many years. I recommend the VA health care system. Click the above link to check on eligibility. You'll be glad you did. ~ RJay Facilities Locator

Any chance you have John Kerry's SS#? I'd like to see what he's hiding on that DD214.
