Speaker of the House...Nancy Pelosi?

Kind of makes the eyes water, doesn't it—but it's not idle speculation. In eight short months, 435 House seats, and 33 in the Senate, will be subject to the rigors of democratic selection, and from this vantage point, short of some major alteration of current trends, Republicans are in trouble.
This is what will happen if Bush doesn't right the ship. He doesn't have much time to do it. Fortunately we American's have a political attention span of 5 minutes.
So, shape up Mr. President. Let's get back to what got you here.
Voting for a Democrat is unthinkable.
Unfortunately many Republicans don't think this way.

Fortunately for me I have Republican Senators in my state. I dont know about Cal. anymore, but it sure does help to write them and tell them what you want them to tell the President. It seems to work faster than e-mailing the President himself :-)
You know I've been all over Bush lately, but he's found a way to dig out when needed in the past.
If you recall everyone was concerned in 2002.......Yet the (R)'s picked up seats in both houses. No small feat in a mid-term election. It has happened a handfull of times in our history.
Here's betting his message and tone gets much sharper around August.......No need to peak in March, because you are right about the 5 minute attention span. Plus the media is on a non-stop attack mode against him.
Bush will take his licks for awhile, but will come out swinging when the time comes.

Oh by the way, that India deal is no small feat.
Jay,
The India pact may receive some opposition from Congress.

U.S.-India pact muddies effort to rein in Iran
The India deal faces an uncertain future in Congress, with many lawmakers saying they still must see the fine print on what safeguards Mr. Bush was able to obtain over India's extensive nuclear facilities.
Rep. Dan Burton, Indiana Republican, said he would like to support the agreement as a path to a better U.S.-India relationship, but added, "The devil is in the details."
Marie,
Asking California's 2 senators (Boxer and Feinstein)to do anything that isn't liberal is an exercise in futility.
