Democrats Have Suicidal Bent

In more ways than one, Democrats are exhibiting suicidal tendencies.

The latest example is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to let the House go on vacation rather than take a vote on extending the Protect America Act. The act updates surveillance laws to take into account technological changes and give telecommunication companies immunity from lawsuits over their cooperation with the government.

If a missed telephone conversation or email intercept contained clues to a plot to detonate nuclear devices in Manhattan and Washington — al Qaida’s No. 1 goal — the government would have no way of knowing before both cities were wiped out.

That is the roulette game the Democrats are playing with our safety. In fact, the Senate has already passed an extension of the Protect America Act, and there are enough votes in the House to pass it as well, but the Democratic leadership of the House is blocking a vote. Full Story

Democrats Now on the Record Selling Out to MoveOn.org

Now it's official. Thanks to Texas Sen. John Cornyn, an amendment was put forward condemning the left-wing political group MoveOn.org for its attack ad against Gen. David Petraeus. Although the measure passed strongly with a 72-25 vote, no leading Democrat, especially those running for president, voted yes. She is under the misguided assumption that there are enough insane voters to elect her president and commander and chief of the armed forces of the United States. Think about that. A socialist liberal who never denounced the Moveon ad demeaning a 4 Star General. She attacked Petraeus' honesty: "The reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief."
The Senate voted 72-25 to "strongly condemn personal attacks on the honor and integrity of Gen. Petraeus and all members of the United States Armed Forces." Majority Whip James Clyburn: America Must Lose

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Monday that a strongly positive report on progress on Iraq by Army Gen. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party’s efforts to press for a timetable to end the war.

A positive report from Petraeus would be good for both America and Iraq has apparently escaped Rep. Clyburn’s attention.

Anti-war protesters spray paint Capitol building

Anti-war protesters were allowed to spray paint on part of the west front steps of the United States Capitol building after police were ordered to break their security line by their leadership, two sources told The Hill.

Approximately 300 protesters were allowed to take the steps and began to spray paint "anarchist symbols" and phrase such as "Our capitol building" and "you can’t stop us" around the area, the source said.
