It was inevitable – a huge swath of Southern California was ablaze in one of the worst wildfires in the state's history, yet all that gasbag liberals could do in the face of this disaster was to go looking for someone to blame.

Reid was bad enough, dredging up the specter of imagined global warming to explain why California was burning, but Sen. Boxer outdid him by reaching down into her bag of slime to blame the fact that the fires were beyond the control of firefighters on the war in Iraq and the fact that many California National Guardsmen were involved there on the firing line and not at home on the fire lines.

New Film Documents Horrors Along Mexican Border

A new documentary paints a shocking but true picture of illegal immigration along America’s border with Mexico.

The film “Border” is directed by Chris Burgard, an actor whose credits include “JAG” and “Growing Pains.” It premiered in August at the Liberty Film Festival and is now being circulated nationally.

According to the film’s Web site, “‘Border’ takes you on a journey from state to state and exposes a failed system and a failed policy. Burgard’s courageous journey includes powerful footage in the border crossing regions of America where dead bodies, armed Mexican military incursions, ‘rape trees,’ and drug traffickers are commonplace.”

In an interview with FrontPage magazine, Burgard was asked what inspired him to undertake the sometimes dangerous job of filming illegal immigration.

He said he beagan his arduous journey after hearing horror stories on the news and from other sources: “I first started hearing about the rapes on the border and how the ‘drogandos’ would put guns to people’s heads and say, ‘You are going to carry this backpack of drugs into America or we are going to kill you and leave you in the desert . . .

“Also at this time there was a group called the Minute Men Civil Defense Corps that was doing a big operation on the Southern border. Presidente Arbusto called them vigilantes.

“My wife says that I am a news and History Channel junky. I think she finally got so tired of my . . . complaining and said do something. So she motivated me to get my butt off the couch, grab a camera, and go see for myself what was going on on the border.”

The film is shot largely along the border and contains images of dead and decaying illegal immigrants, many that local ranchers say were murdered by human traffickers who raped them or forced them to bring drugs across the border.

Asked what most “surprised” him while making the film, Burgard said: “Rape trees . . . Armed men in uniform from Mexico using mule trains to smuggle tons of contraband into America . . .

“Rancher after rancher living behind razor wire. Ranch after ranch on the verge of bankruptcy due to the illegal traffic, vandalism, and drug cartels that are flooding their land. Dead bodies so numerous that border counties are going broke just paying for all the coroner inquests.”

But Burgard added: “I am convinced that we have more than enough tools in the shed to secure the border whenever we want to. It is a matter of choosing not to.”

Hillary Clinton's campaign has been raising huge piles of money in Chinatown, but some of it has come from donors who can't be located or who were improperly repaid for their contributions, according to The Post and other reports.

A search of Chinatown donors yesterday by The Post found several bogus addresses and some contributions that raised eyebrows.

Shin K. Cheng is listed twice in federal records for giving $1,000 donations to Clinton's campaign on April 17.

But the address recorded on campaign reports is a clinic for sexually transmitted diseases, hemorrhoids and skin disease.

Canada's socialized health care system, hailed as a model by Michael Moron in his documentary, "Sicko," is hurting, government officials admit, citing not enough money for more equipment and staff to handle high risk births.

Cartoon Prays That Allah Will Kill Americans

The Palestinian Authority (Fatah) daily newspaper’s political cartoon today illustrated a prayer for the killing of Americans. A Muslim is shown kneeling in prayer facing a US B-2 Stealth Bomber. The words of his prayer are encased in missiles aimed at Americans:
“Allah, scatter them!”
“And turn their wives into widows!”
“And turn their children into orphans!”
“And give us victory over them!”
This curse for the death of Americans is a special prayer for Al-Qadr Night (the 27 th day of Ramadan, noted in the corner of the cartoon), when Muslims customarily pray in mosques throughout the night.

Torpedoed SCHIP
President George W. Bush vetoed a $35-billion, five-year expansion of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) on Wednesday. Democrats and their accomplices in the Leftmedia predictably portrayed the President as a Lone Ranger against “the children.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi cried, “President Bush used his cruel veto pen to say ‘I forbid ten million children from getting the health benefits they deserve’.” (This from the party of abortion.) Of course, most of those ten million currently have health benefits—just not taxpayer funded. Yet. Furthermore, some of these “children” are as old as 25 or from families earning $82,000 per year.

Defense bill passes
Senate Democrats passed a $648-billion defense authorization for next year, complete with $142 billion for fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, $950 million for military healthcare, and $23.6 billion for protecting armored vehicles from roadside bombs, the primary cause of American casualties in Iraq. Democrats are still playing games with defense funding, despite twice having fallen short of their goal of surrender in Iraq.

Thanks to Ted "The Swimmer" Kennedy, the bill includes a provision that adds homosexuals to the list of groups protected under federal hate-crimes legislation. The hate-crimes amendment has no business being in a defense authorization, and liberals are practically begging President Bush to carry out his promised veto of the whole bill by including it.

The Leftmedia want the rest of us to believe that the majority of Americans would rather have homosexuals added to hate-crimes legislation and expanded healthcare for middle class children than support the war against Jihadistan or cut spending. ABC News and The Washington Post trumpeted a poll this week that stated seven in ten Americans support the expansion of SCHIP, even though it will add families to the government dole who can afford to insure their children.
