The Reconquista Movement

Mexico's Plan for the American Southwest
On January 7, 2006, the Minuteman Project held a National Day Laborer Site protest. Often, a day labor site is nothing more than a parking lot outside a building-materials store where the owner sees a business advantage to allowing illegal alien day laborers to stand around and wait for job offers.

At the day labor site in Rancho Cucamonga, the Minuteman Project videotaped an angry Mexican who came out into the street to shout insults. “Go back to Germany where you belong!” he shouted. “Stay in Germany! Get out of here!” Then, pointing demonstrably to the ground with his right index finger, he screamed, “This is Mexico! This is our land! Get out of here, racist pigs! Viva Saddam Hussein! Viva Cuba!” Read the full story here brokenborders.blogspot

Hillary's $6,000 Beauty Sessions

Hillary Make Over
Sen. Hillary Clinton has put together an army of 50 staffers and more than 20 consultants as she prepares to do battle for the 2008 Democratic nomination for president.

Included in those ranks is acclaimed Washington, D.C., hairstylist Isabelle Goetz, who has collected $3,000 in recent months to clip the former first lady’s locks.
Hillary
Clinton paid out $3,000 to Hollywood makeup artist Barbara Lacy for eye-lining and other makeup work before she appeared in a film seen on her re-election Web site, the Post reports.

Cuba drills for oil off Florida

Cuba is drilling for oil 60 miles off the coast of Florida with help from China, Canada and Spain even as Congress struggles to end years of deadlock over drilling for what could be a treasure trove of offshore oil and gas.

Outrage, Amnesty for Illegals

More common sense from Thomas Sowell.
Thomas Sowell: People Power
No issue discussed in this column has brought in so much virtually unanimous mail, so full of outrage, as the issue of amnesty for illegal aliens living in this country.

Much of this mail also expressed a sense of futility. "What can I do?" these letters and e-mails often asked. "I am just an ordinary citizen."

Make no mistake about it. The elites always think they know better, that the public's views are just mindless stereotypes or ugly prejudices.

On Meddling With Climate Change
Everyone knows trees are "A Good Thing". They take in the carbon dioxide that threatens our planet with global warming and turn it into fresh, clean oxygen for us all to breathe. But now it seems we need to think again. In a discovery that has left climate scientists gasping, researchers have found that the earth's vegetation is churning out vast quantities of methane, a greenhouse gas far more potent even than CO2.

Pro-Family Leaders Blast House

(AgapePress) - Today, in a 236-187 vote, the U.S. House of Representatives has rejected a constitutional amendment to ban homosexual marriage, thereby ending congressional debate on the issue for this year. The vote over a proposal to amend the Constitution of the United States to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman fell 47 votes shy of the two-thirds majority required to advance the amendment.

"We want to identify these 187 members of Congress who believe that homosexual marriage should be legal," Wildmon says. "Every one of them will be running for re-election this fall," he explains, "and we want to let their constituencies know how they voted."

DCCC Pulls Coffin Ad

Sickening Democrats blatantly exploiting fallen heroesFox News reports that the DCCC has decided to pull an ad that used flag-draped coffins and a phony mug shot of Tom DeLay in a "stuff that's wrong with America" montage. The ad seemed to suggest that the solution to all these problems is to re-elect Bill Clinton. The ad was pulled after two House Democrats objected:
On Thursday, more than a dozen Republicans, many with military backgrounds, called on DCCC Chairman Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., to apologize. Democratic Reps. John Spratt of South Carolina and Chet Edwards of Texas asked Emanuel to pull or alter the ad.
"We're moving to another major effort that we're highlighting on our Web site," DCCC spokesman Bill Burton said.

Letter to the New York Times

Did the New York Times place innocent lives in jeopardy by publishing the details of the secret SWIFT anti-terrorist-financing program?

One of our brave men in uniform, Lt. Tom Cotton submitted the following open letter to the New York Times which is now making the rounds on the Internet. As far as Cotton is concerned, the answer is "yes!"
Dear Messrs. Keller, Lichtblau & Risen:

Congratulations on disclosing our government's highly classified anti-terrorist-financing program (June 23). I apologize for not writing sooner. But I am a lieutenant in the United States Army and I spent the last four days patrolling one of the more dangerous areas in Iraq. (Alas, operational security and common sense prevent me from even revealing this unclassified location in a private medium like email.)

Unfortunately, as I supervised my soldiers late one night, I heard a booming explosion several miles away. I learned a few hours later that a powerful roadside bomb killed one soldier and severely injured another from my 130-man company. I deeply hope that we can find and kill or capture the terrorists responsible for that bomb. But, of course, these terrorists do not spring from the soil like Plato's guardians. No, they require financing to obtain mortars and artillery shells, priming explosives, wiring and circuitry, not to mention for training and payments to locals willing to emplace bombs in exchange for a few months' salary. As your story states, the program was legal, briefed to Congress, supported in the government and financial industry, and very successful.

Not anymore. You may think you have done a public service, but you have gravely endangered the lives of my soldiers and all other soldiers and innocent Iraqis here. Next time I hear that familiar explosion -- or next time I feel it -- I will wonder whether we could have stopped that bomb had you not instructed terrorists how to evade our financial surveillance.

And, by the way, having graduated from Harvard Law and practiced with a federal appellate judge and two Washington law firms before becoming an infantry officer, I am well-versed in the espionage laws relevant to this story and others -- laws you have plainly violated. I hope that my colleagues at the Department of Justice match the courage of my soldiers here and prosecute you and your newspaper to the fullest extent of the law. By the time we return home, maybe you will be in your rightful place: not at the Pulitzer announcements, but behind bars.

Very truly yours,
Tom Cotton

July 14, 2006 -- Just as the Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation attorneys were preparing to depose key VVAW "winter soldiers" to ask them about all those war crimes, the VVAW's Kenneth Campbell has abruptly dropped his twin lawsuits against the VVLF and Stolen Honor producer Carlton Sherwood. Dems' Political Ad Includes Flag-Draped Coffins

Just when you think that the national Democrats can sink no lower, they reach down into the mud and mire in their bag of political tricks and come up with a new and slimier example of their utter shamelessness.

Sickening Democrats blatantly exploiting fallen heroesRepublicans say Democrats ought to be ashamed of themselves for using the flag-draped coffins of U.S. troops who died in Iraq for political gain. Democrats have no shame.

The coffins -- and other depictions of violence in Iraq -- are among the images featured in a new political ad produced by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, a group that raises funds to elect Democrats to Congress.

"It makes my stomach turn to see National Democrats so blatantly exploit the sacrifices made by the men and women of our Armed Forces," National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Reynolds said in a press release.

FBI Raid on Jefferson's Office Was Legal

An FBI raid on a Louisiana congressman's Capitol Hill office was legal, a federal judge ruled Monday.

Chief U.S. District Judge Thomas F. Hogan said members of Congress are not above the law. Saying that barring searches of lawmakers' offices would turn Capitol Hill into "a taxpayer-subsidized sanctuary for crime."
He rejected requests from lawmakers and Democratic Rep. William Jefferson to return material seized by the FBI in a May 20-21 search of Jefferson's office.

In a 28-page opinion, Hogan dismissed arguments that the first-ever raid on a congressman's office violated the Constitution's protections against intimidation of elected officials.

"Congress' capacity to function effectively is not threatened by permitting congressional offices to be searched pursuant to validly issued search warrants," said Hogan, who had approved the FBI's request to conduct the overnight search of Jefferson's office.

When is a "secret" not a secret?

When The New York Times decides, in the interest of saving its old gray hide, that it is not.

On June 22, the paper trumpeted its expose of "a secret Bush administration program" to track terror finances. The banking program, reporters Eric Lichtblau and James Risen made unmistakably clear, was a "closely held secret." The front-page story referred to the secret nature of the program no less than eight times. A Times-produced Web video featuring Lichtblau promoted a brief interview in which he "reveal(ed) a secret Bush administration program to access financial records."

But by July 2, smarting from the public backlash against its blabbermouth coverage, the Times crew was backpedaling faster than circus monkeys on barrels hurtling over Niagara Falls...

"We're told newspapers have a right to commit treason because of 'freedom of the press.' Liberals invoke 'freedom of the press' like some talismanic formulation that requires us all to fall prostrate in religious ecstasy. On liberals' theory of the First Amendment, the safest place for Osama bin Laden isn't in Afghanistan or Pakistan; it's in The New York Times building. Freedom of the press means the government generally cannot place a prior restraint on speech before publication.
But freedom of the press does not mean the government cannot prosecute reporters and editors for treason—or for any other crime.
The First Amendment does not mean Times editor Bill Keller could kidnap a child and issue his ransom demands from The New York Times editorial page. He could not order a contract killing on the op-ed page.
Nor can he take out a contract killing on Americans with a Page One story on a secret government program being used to track terrorists who are trying to kill Americans."Ann Coulter

Charge: Bush Stole Mexican Election

Demonstrating Absurdity With Absurdity!
Is it Florida redux?

It's not clear whether the Mexican election, now certifying Felipe Calderon of the ruling conservative National Action Party (PAN), will turn into a crisis like America witnessed in Florida after the 2000 election.

Already the two elections have one thing in common: left-wingers are claiming George Bush stole the election.

And yes, that includes the Mexican election.

Three days before Mexicans went to the polls, London-based journalist and blogger Greg Palast, an American, wrote, "George Bush’s operatives have plans to jigger with the upcoming elections."

Then on July 3, in an article titled "Grand Theft Mexico" that appeared on guardian.co.uk, Palast wrote this: "As in Florida in 2000, and as in Ohio in 2004, the exit polls show the voters voted for the progressive candidate. The race is too close to call. But they will call it – after they steal it."

Palast says that the FBI, acting under the guise of counter-terrorism, had obtained Mexico's voter files through a contract with information broker ChoicePoint, the database company whose list Jeb Bush used in 2000 to "scrub" voters from voter rolls.

"The disenfranchisement of these voters cost Al Gore the presidency," declares Palast.

ChoicePoint of Alpharetta, Ga., says that it returned or destroyed its Mexican files when it learned that collecting voter information violated Mexican law.

Says Palast: "It's impossible to know whether the FBI destroyed its own copy…or whether these were then used to illegally assist the Calderon candidacy."

No matter, the word is out, Bush "Floridized" the Mexican election.

MSM double standards. [Guillen]

A slur against a Chicago sports columnist has gotten White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen onto a gay bar's menu: It named a drink after him.

Guillen called Chicago Sun-Times columnist Jay Mariotti, who had been critical of Guillen, a "f--ing fag" during a pre-game interview last month.

Now the Kit Kat Lounge and Supper Club, a gay bar in Chicago that features female impersonators, has come up with "The

Effen Ozzie GuillenTini."

The martini is made with assorted fresh fruits and vodka and served with a complimentary copy of the Sun-Times sports section.

"What (Guillen) said was no big deal, and we wanted people to know it's time to get over it," said John McCartney, the creator of the drink.

Added club owner Edward Gisigler, "We decided to put 'effen' in front of it because that's what he called Mariotti."

I wonder what kind of drink would be named after John "Effen" Kerry?

The MSM says, Guillen is not protected by the First Amendment and needs sensitivity training, but the New York Times is protected by the First Amendment for exposing "a secret Bush administration program" to track terror finances. The double standards of the MSM.
Perhaps Guillen should have said, Effen Girlie-Man?

MSNBC's O'Donnell Grills Sheehan

The lefties aren't going to be happy about this one:
Cindy Sheehan © John CoxNORAH O'DONNELL: Cindy Sheehan is America's most outspoken anti-war activist. But does she speak for America or just the fringes? She's called President Bush the biggest terrorist in the world and she stood side by side with socialist dictator Hugo Chavez in Venezuela. Now she begins a two-month hunger strike to get the American people to join her mission to end the war. Welcome to Hardball, Cindy. Let me begin by asking you, you know, Americans may hate the war, but they don't necessarily hate the president. How do you expect to get change by going around the world and trashing the president of the United States?

CINDY SHEEHAN: Actually, I don't hate the president either. I don't trash the president, I trash the president's foreign policy, which is fundamentally and inherently wrong and immoral. And I don't tell people around the world anything that they don't know.

O'DONNELL: But you called him the biggest terrorist in the world. So you are trashing the president.

SHEEHAN: Well you know he says a terrorist is somebody who kills innocent men, women and children, and there has been [sic] over 100,000 innocent men, women and children killed in Iraq on his orders.

That was just the beginning. O'Donnell went on to call Sheehan's hunger strike "really just more of a publicity stunt," challenge her on her fringe views and confront her over her association with Hugo Chavez. Glad to see someone in the media confront Sheehan over her extremist rhetoric, particularly the "Bush is a terrorist" trope.

O'DONNELL: Would you rather live under him [Hugo Chavez] than George Bush?

Sheehan: "Yes. Hugo Chavez is not a dictator like you introduced him. He's been democratically elected eight times. He is not anti-American, he has helped the poor people of America. Watch The Video Interview

You could call it "Treason Central," or "al-Qaida West," but no matter what you call it, the building housing the once-august New York Times at 229 West 43rd Street in New York City is a beehive of anti-American hostility, where selling out the nation's secrets has become the newspaper's stock in trade.
