ABC's Jake Tapper on Thursday night raised the prediction “genocide” will result after a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, a forecast Tapper put to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at a Capitol Hill news conference: “Do you think the Iraqi people will be safer with U.S. troops out?” Reid didn't respond to the point, leading Tapper to retort in the exchange played on World News: “You didn't answer my question.” A perturbed Reid, presumably not used to challenging questions from the Washington press corps, chastised Tapper: “This isn't a debate. We're answering questions.” Tapper then repeated his question -- “Will the Iraqis be safer?” -- but Reid ignored him and moved on: “Anyone else have a question?”

Tapper's story ran a night after Wednesday's World News featured a report from Terry McCarthy in Iraq on how General David Petraeus, commander of all multi-national forces in Iraq, “is still very optimistic about the military battle, if the politicians give him enough time.” (July 11 NewsBusters item)

How nice! Nancy Pelosi, who has accomplished nothing more momentous than a minimum wage bill, has passed (in the House) another one of her inane and vacuous benchmark bills --- like those benchmarks mandating that the Iraqi government get more accomplished (under much more difficult conditions) than Pelosi and her House democrats have (or will).

If she really wanted to be useful, she should pass a bill mandating more civility from her friends in the Syrian and Iranian governments.

Their plan is to make heros and honor these "people"... they blame us for "making them terrorists"... to those IDIOTS, the terrorists are up there with the Freedom Fighters (MLK jr, etc) ... OMG, how insane!!

Suicide Bomb Teams Sent to U.S., Europe

Large teams of newly trained suicide bombers are being sent to the United States and Europe, according to evidence contained on a new videotape obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com.

Teams assigned to carry out attacks in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Germany were introduced at an al Qaeda/Taliban training camp graduation ceremony held June 9.

They delivered a letter to our Commander in Chief on Wednesday saying they would, "begin the phased redeployment of US forces, and bring the war to a responsible end."

Move America Forward: You know what that means and what al-Qaida and their allies will proclaim if it comes to fruition: America lost and surrendered to the forces of radical Islam. If we allow Reid & Pelosi to have their way, Iraq will become the new operations base for Islamic terrorist groups to wage their jihad against the United States and our allies.



The letter was delivered to the President the day before this great country would honor Old Glory.

How much lower can Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-N.V.) sink? Every time he seems to hit bottom, Reid does something that delves deeper. Such as the little incident a few days ago when -- just to upstage the President’s visit to Capitol Hill to lobby for that misbegotten McKennedy immigration bill – Reid scheduled a “moment of silence” on the Senate floor supposedly to honor the fallen in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was cheap and sleazy. Why cheap and sleazy?

Measure the moment of silence against Reid’s antiwar antics. Back in April, fighting against funding the Iraq war, Reid proclaimed the war lost. He’s so enmeshed in the anti-Bush anti-war rhetoric that -- having failed to stop the war in April -- he’s about to try it again. He said – this week -- that the troop surge has failed. AL QAEDA IN IRAQ

How often has President Bush warned of a strong al Qaeda presence in Iraq - to derisory hoots from such critics as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi?

For the Democrats, the War on Terror should be waged exclusively outside Iraq's borders. What's happening in Baghdad and Anbar province, they maintain, is nothing more than a Sunni-Shiite civil war - one from which America must cut and run.

Yet then an emboldened al Qaeda would bring the war to America. It's already happened once; no one knows what form the inevitable new attack would take.

Or where it would come. New York, again? L.A.? Chicago? San Francisco?
