New Museum Seeks Purple Heart Recipients

The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is currently under construction in New York's Hudson River Valley at the New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site. Its mission is to collect and preserve the stories of Purple Heart recipients from all branches of the service and across the generations in an attempt to ensure that all recipients are represented. Their stories will be preserved and shared through exhibits, live and videotaped interviews with the veterans themselves, and the Roll of Honor, an interactive computer program preserving the stories of each individual. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor the first in the nation to recognize the more than 800,000 Americans wounded or killed in action while serving in the United States Military. For more information or to have your story preserved as a Purple Heart recipient, contact Michael J. Capital Gains Tax Cut Generated More Revenue to Federal Government

WASHINGTON — Despite claims by opponents of capital gains tax cuts, the 2003 reduction on capital gains fully paid for itself and more. A new analysis released today by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (pdf ) (CBO) shows capital gains increased 51.1 percent from calendar year 2002 through 2004, far surpassing the forecast by an astonishing $45 billion over three years. This should come as no surprise since history has repeatedly demonstrated a capital gains tax cut is one of the few tax cuts which produce more tax revenue following a rate cut.

Justification for US Military Intervention in Cuba

What is it? The Joint Chiefs of Staff was planning a war with Cuba, either by faking a Cuban attack on US forces or Cuban exiles, among some of the possible justifications. Read the now-declassified document, here: Northwoods Memorandum (March 13, 1962) Click PDF

Operation Northwoods or Northwoods was a 1962 plan to generate U.S. public support for military action against the Cuban regime of Fidel Castro. The plan, which was not implemented, called for various false flag actions, including simulated or real domestic terror attacks (such as hijacked planes) on U.S. soil. The plan was proposed by senior U.S. Department of Defense leaders, including the highest ranking member of the U.S. military, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Operation Northwoods

CSI: Army

No, it's not another spin-off of the popular TV series -- it's the real thing. The DoD has shelled out $33M to build the US Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory, a state-of-the-art forensics facility at Fort Gillem.

Forensic biologist Debbie Glidewell insists the work at the new U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory at Fort Gillem lacks the high emotion, suspense and pathos that people expect from television shows like "CSI."But sometimes reality tops television.

Does the last four paragraphs of the article remind you of someone?

Harry Reid bragging that "we killed the PATRIOT Act."

Watch the new TV and Web ad that exposes Harry Reid and the Democrats for their attempts to weaken the PATRIOT Act, an essential tool in America's arsenal to fight the War on Terror.

Watch the video, and you'll see Harry Reid bragging that "we killed the PATRIOT Act." Here's what Reid is proud of: Trying to kill a vital law that breaks down the wall between intelligence and law enforcement, and makes it easier to prevent and detect attacks on America. Reid's boast shows how reckless the Democrats have become when it comes to safeguarding America.

Liberals are sizing up Hillary Clinton for the umpteenth time, and they don't like what they see.

To be honest, I never understood what they saw in her in the first place. The amazing thing about Clinton is that she's so unappealing. She isn't a particularly gifted speaker. She's smart, but in a conventional and lawyerly way. She doesn't connect well with audiences. Her idea of improvisation seems to be leaping from the prepared text to prepared note cards.
Many faces of Hillary - by Jonah Goldberg

Most American voters now say there's no way they'd vote for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton if she runs for president in 2008 — while just 16 percent are firmly in her camp, a stunning new poll shows.

The Gallup/CNN poll found that 51 percent say they definitely won't vote for Clinton (D-N.Y.) in 2008, another 32 percent might consider it, and only 16 percent vow to back her.

That means committed anti-Hillary voters outnumber pro-Hillary voters by 3-1. DEBORAH ORIN

TED KENNEDY'S SECRET LOVE CHILD

The Philanderer Shanklin
The National Enquirer splashes this week with a shocking story about Sen. Ted Kennedy’s secret love child with a Cape Cod woman whom the mag says he dated during his days as a swinging single.

Here’s the story according to the Boston Herald and the National Enquirer:
Back in 1983, Kennedy, then 51, took up with Caroline Bilodeau, an attractive brunette, several months before divorcing Joan, the mother of his three kids — Kara, Ted Jr. and Patrick.

Bilodeau’s friends told the Enquirer the local lass became so smitten with the senator, she “had dreams about being the next Mrs. Ted Kennedy.” But the love affair came crashing down when Bilodeau told Ted a baby was on the way, the mag reports.

“Caroline announced to the family that she was two months pregnant around May 1984,” blabbed a Bilodeau confidante. “Ted was not happy about the news. He already had three kids with Joan and knew a baby out of wedlock could hurt him politically.”

According to the Enquirer, the scandal-scarred senator begged Bilodeau to have an abortion, but she refused.

“He told her he couldn’t undergo another scandal — not after Chappaquiddick, not so close to his divorce from Joan” said the source. “He was very angry when she defied him and had the child.”
During her pregnancy, Caroline’s friends noticed the unemployed young woman who lived with her parents bought a black Mustang convertible, an expensive Shar-pei puppy and moved into her own apartment.

When Christopher was born in a Cape Cod hospital in December 1984, Kennedy was nowhere near the delivery room. But he did, according to the Enquirer, take a paternity test shortly thereafter to determine if the child was his.

After Bilodeau got the results, she moved back in with her parents but “always seemed to have money,” said the source.
This guy was questioning Judge Alito about ethics?

Caroline Bilodeau was smart enough not to take a drive with Sen. Kennedy over a bridge.

PSA: New Online Military Records Request

National ArchivesThe National Personnel Records Center is working to make it easier for veterans with computers and Internet access to get copies of documents from their military files. Military veterans and the next of kin of deceased former military members may now use a new online military personnel records system to request documents, including Discharge Documents DD 214. Because the requester will be asked to supply all information essential for NPRC to process the request, delays that normally occur will be minimized. The new web-based application was designed to provide better service on these requests by eliminating the records center's mailroom processing time. Former military personnel and their dependents can get more information at the National Archives website.
VA Health Care Beats Private Sector
Veterans continue to be more satisfied with their health care than the average American, according to an annual report on customer satisfaction that compares the Department of Veterans Affairs health care system with private-sector health care. The ratings came in the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index, which ranks "customer satisfaction" with various federal programs and private-sector industries. The latest findings mark the sixth consecutive year VA's health care system has outranked the private sector for customer satisfaction. Health care is just one of many potential benefits available to those who served in our nation's armed forces. If you served, or know someone who did, check on eligibility for benefits and services from VA at: http://www.va.gov or call 1-800-827-1000.

I can personally vouch for this. I have been under the care of the VA Medical Center, Loma Linda for many years. I recommend the VA health care system. Click the above link to check on eligibility. You'll be glad you did. ~ RJay Facilities Locator

I'M A TERROR TRACKER, NOT A SPY: BUSH

This is a -- I repeat to you, even though you hear words, "domestic spying," these are not phone calls within the United States. It's a phone call of an al Qaeda, known al Qaeda suspect, making a phone call into the United States. I'm mindful of your civil liberties, and so I had all kinds of lawyers review the process. We briefed members of the United States Congress, one of whom was Senator Pat Roberts, about this program. You know, it's amazing, when people say to me, well, he was just breaking the law -- if I wanted to break the law, why was I briefing Congress? Remarks By The President On The Global War On Terror
TERROR FOR DEMS By ARNOLD AHLERT
FOUR questions regarding the War on Terror that most Democrats can't — or won't — answer.
* If Iraq is the "wrong war, etc." where — exactly — should America be prosecuting the war on terror? Hint: If we capture or kill Osama bin Laden, is the War on Terror "over"?

* If all diplomatic measures fail to deter Iran's quest for nuclear capability, should the nations of the West use military force?

* If those other nations are either militarily incapable or simply unwilling to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, should the United States act unilaterally?

* If "war is not the answer" — and, as many Democrats have made clear, neither is the attempt to "democratize" the Middle East — how do you propose stop the spread of Islamo-facism?

There are serious questions — far too serious to be ignored or demagogued. The American people have a right to know what, if any, serious alternatives Democrats have for dealing with the War on Terror — before the 2006 election.

Hillary Clinton to Fundraise with Harry Belafonte
The New York Observer is reporting that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) will appear Thursday at a luncheon with Calypso singer turned Bush-bashing liberal activist Harry Belafonte.

Belafonte gained recent attention by calling President Bush the "world’s greatest terrorist” while visiting Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez.

The Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, a conservative black leader, accused Belafonte of treason.

"Harry Belafonte's hatred of President Bush is causing him to embrace America's enemies," the Rev. Peterson said in a press release. "I also believe that his actions are treasonous as described by Article Three, Section Three of the U.S. Constitution, which says that 'adhering to our enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort' constitutes treason." more

A DIFFERENT SORT OF WAR HERO

Hugh Tompson Jr.Hugh Thompson Jr. In the finest tradition of the U.S. military, Thompson — who died Jan. 6 of cancer — was a brave man who saved many lives in Vietnam. But the lives he saved were of Vietnamese civilians at a hamlet called My Lai who were being murdered by Thompson's fellow soldiers.

A platoon of soldiers led by Lt. William Calley entered My Lai on March 18, 1968 and began systematically killing everyone. Calley himself machine-gunned a ditch full of villagers. Ultimately, 350 to 500 died — but the toll could have been higher if an Army scout helicopter crew led by 24-year-old Warrant Officer Thompson hadn't witnessed the killings during a flyover and decided they would not close their eyes.

"They landed the helicopter in the line of fire between American troops and fleeing Vietnamese civilians and pointed their own guns at the U.S. soldiers to prevent more killings," more

A Cybercast News Service investigation also reveals that one of Murtha's former Democratic congressional colleagues and a fellow decorated Vietnam veteran, Don Bailey of Pennsylvania, alleges that Murtha admitted during an emotional conversation on the floor of the U.S. House in the early 1980s that he did not deserve his Purple Hearts.

NY T Times Fake Photo
Is a fake staged photo fit to print? What if it staged in a way that makes the US forces fighting the War on Terror look cruel and ineffective? The evidence argues that yes, it can run, and in a prominent position - at least in the case of the New York Times website.

It appears that the Times, once-upon-a-time regarded as the last word in reliability when it comes to checking before publishing (which makes them so much better than blogs, of course), has run a fake photo on the home page of its website. Kennedy Asserts Alito Is Racist

Garner
"In Alito's 15-years on the bench, Judge Alito has not written one single opinion on the merits in favor of a person of color who alleged race discrimination in the workplace."

Moments later, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R.-Ala.) took Kennedy to task, leaving the liberal Massachusetts senator shaking his head.

Sessions cited three cases in which Alito demonstrated that "all Americans receive equal protection of the laws, regardless of race."

Does anyone remember how the Kennedy's didn't want Sammy Davis marrying a white girl during Kennedy's run for the white house? They wanted Sinatra to tell Sammy not to cause gossip that might hurt Jack Kennedy's run for the White House. Now, Teddy, who is the racists here? Were you not personally involved in that cover up. There's more bones in his closet than anyone in the Senate. Him sitting in judgment before the cameras make Alito look more inviting to the Supreme Court. ~ RH Valen

It's good to be reminded that the sole item on the Democrats' agenda is abortion.

According to Dianne Feinstein, Roe vs. Wade is critically important because "women all over America have come to depend on it." At its most majestic, this precious right that women "have come to depend on" is the right to have sex with men they don't want to have children with.

There's a stirring principle! Leave aside the part of this precious constitutional right that involves (1) not allowing Americans to vote on the matter, and (2) suctioning brains out of half-born babies. The right to have sex with men you don't want to have children with is not exactly "Give me liberty, or give me death."

In the history of the nation, there has never been a political party so ridiculous as today's Democrats. It's as if all the brain-damaged people in America got together and formed a voting bloc. Ann Coulter Archive

The Defense Department's "America Supports You" program and Shauna Fleming, 16, founder of "A Million Thanks," launched the "2.6 in 2006" letter-writing campaign January 1, 2006. The goal of the new campaign is to increase the number of letters of thanks to 2.6 million -- the total number of people in the armed forces, including the Guard and Reserve -- with the bulk of the letters coming from school-aged children. The initiative invites America's youth to make it their New Year's resolution to find ways to show their support for members of the U.S. armed forces and to start by sending a letter of thanks to a servicemember as part of the "2.6 in 2006" campaign. Saddam's Terror Training Camps

What the documents captured from the former Iraqi regime reveal--and why they should all be made public.

THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD by eleven U.S. government officials.

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has convened several meetings in recent weeks to discuss the Pentagon's role in expediting the release of this information. According to several sources familiar with his thinking, Rumsfeld is pushing aggressively for a massive dump of the captured documents. "He has a sense that public vetting of this information is likely to be as good an astringent as any other process we could develop," says Pentagon spokesman Larry DiRita.

The main worry, says DiRita, is that the mainstream press might cherry-pick documents and mischaracterize their meaning. more

Last strong Democrat standing?

By Jeffrey Scott Shapiro
It's more than clear to Americans and the world that the Democratic Party leadership views the war in Iraq as both hopeless and without value.

That's quite a change since the legendary days of President John F. Kennedy, whose nerves of steel single-handedly pushed America to victory during her coldest war against communism. One has to wonder what would have happened on the 13th day of the Cuban Missile Crisis had the current Democratic leadership occupied the White House then.
Any right thinking American knows what would have happened.
Todays anti-American DemocRats would have given up.
"The idea we're going to win this war is an idea that is unfortunately just plain wrong" - Howard Dean

In response, a senior Senate Democratic aide said of Mr. Lieberman to The Washington Post that "everything he does is seen as advancing his own self-interest, instead of the Democratic interest." The aide added the discontent in Democratic chambers over Mr. Lieberman was "widespread."

Just what is the "Democratic interest?"
It's not to protect this nation and the American people.
It's about them. It's about getting Bush.

Yes - 83%
No - 17%

4) How would you rate media coverage about President Bush's actions?

To all anti-American Liberals

Murtha, who now recommends that young Americans ignore the call to serve in uniform in order to "get" this president, would do well to recall the words of his predecessors:

"What you have chosen to do for your country by devoting your life to the service of your nation is the greatest contribution any man could make." ~ President John F. Kennedy spoken at the U.S. Naval Academy.

"Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge—and more."
"My fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country."
"My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." ~ President John F. Kennedy

"Carry the battle to them. Don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don't ever apologize for anything."
"We will strengthen freedom-loving nations against the dangers of aggression." ~ President Harry S. Truman

"We have learned that we cannot live alone, at peace; that our own well-being is dependent on the well-being of other nations far away. We have learned that we must live as men, not as ostriches, nor as dogs in the manger." ~ President Franklin D. Roosevelt

So, liberals if you have any comments. Don't ask questions.
Tell us why you think todays Democrats can be trusted with the nations security.
The anti-American Bush bashing liberals are really insisting on here is that the President get a warrant the minute a terrorist communicates with an associate who may be inside in the U.S. That's a loophole only a terrorist could love.

Who is that Democrat? None other than California's favorite Bush bashing anti-American liberal, Nancy Pelosi, who predicted in May 2003 that the president's tax cuts would cause economic disaster. Democrats to hit White House, Republicans on privacy issues

Max Cleland"At a time when our military is fighting a war in Iraq against terrorists, while the law-enforcement community is trying to track them down is an effort to prevent attacks here at home, Democrats are advocating retreat on the battlefield while seeking to restrict law enforcement's pursuit of terror suspects already amongst us," he said.

Senate Republicans say the strategy reminds them of the Democrats -- such as former Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia -- who opposed the creation of the Homeland Security Department after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

One Republican aide said he looks forward to posting pictures of Mr. Cleland around the Capitol during the Patriot Act debate as a warning to Democrats that they will face a similar political demise.
WHY have President Bush's poll ratings improved lately? Some say it is because he became more visible and vocal in defense of his policies. But I believe the Democrats drove voters back to his camp with their attacks on the Patriot Act and the administration's wiretapping policies. Dick Morris

Overcoming Liberalism: A 12-Step Program

Step 1: Admitting that you’re a Liberal
This is the first step for every Liberal on the way to recovery. It is important to understand that you’re not “progressive,” “moderate,” or “enlightened.” You’re a Liberal, and you need to be honest with yourself about that fact.

Step 2: Pledge to support your beliefs with facts
Realize that truth is more important than moral superiority and is the only way to come over to reality. You must research beyond propaganda from the Sierra Club, Hillary Clinton, and CNN (the Communist News Network) to understand things as they really exist in the world. You can no longer argue based on “feelings” or emotion. You will actually need to back up your arguments with real information. This is a difficult step, because it means you can’t be lazy any more.

Step 3: Love America
This may be the most difficult step for those of you who are hippies and peaceniks. Admitting that the country you hate actually stands as a beacon to defend freedom throughout the world can make some of you physically ill. You might want to make a visit to a military cemetery to better understand that these men and women gave their lives so that you could spew hatred. Otherwise, you would currently be living in a police state that would never let you wear that nasty patchouli oil, let alone speak out against your government.

Step 4: Take a college level economics class
I’ve always defined a Socialist as someone who’s never taken an economics class. Most Socialists I’ve spoke with would have a hard time balancing their checkbooks, let alone explaining the simple concept of supply-and-demand. It’s time to flush your complete ignorance of basic economics down the toilet and understand how the world actually functions. This concept will be very important for the next steps that involve Communism, facts about corporations, and the inefficiencies of government.

Step 5: Say “no” to Communism and Socialism
While this concept is obvious to most of the free world, it is an important step in your recovery process. If you have difficulty with this step, spend a week living and working in Cuba.

Step 6: Corporations are not evil
If you’re reading this article online or in an e-mail, it’s thanks to corporations. If you get some kind of paycheck, you can thank corporations. If you work for a non-profit or the government, you still have to thank corporations. The non-profit sector and the government wouldn’t have any money to pay you without corporations. It is also important that you understand that making a profit doesn’t equate to “greed” or exploitation. Capitalism has created the greatest society in our world’s history. Even Communist countries need corporations to survive, so enjoy a nice, hot cup of reality.

Step 7: The government is inefficient
If you are one of those Liberals who believe the government should tax us more in order to take care of society, you need to pay special attention to this step. You need to realize that government bureaucracy will waste most of your tax dollars, while the private sector will put your money to much better use. Even most Democrat politicians understand this to some degree, which is why Hillary’s Socialist healthcare proposal was voted down by a majority of both Democrats and Republicans. Go to your local post office or call the IRS to ask a tax question if you need a reminder about government inefficiency.

Step 8: The earth is not your “mother,” and she’s not dying
The time has now come to stop your donations to Greenpeace, The Sierra Club, and every other EnviroNazi organization to which you belong. Face the reality that the earth, society, and our environment are better off today than ever in recorded history and that they are continuing to improve. I realize that many of you tree huggers will have a very difficult time letting go of the Douglas Fir on this one. I would suggest reading The Skeptical Environmentalist by Bjorn Lomborg. Mr. Lomborg is a former member of Greenpeace and is currently a statistics professor at a university in Denmark. He set out to prove the world was in bad shape and ended up surprising himself by proving the exact opposite.

Step 9: Stop smoking the wacky tobaccy
Okay, some of you might need to enter another 12-step program to complete this step. Marijuana is distorting your sense of reality, and you need to stop using it. Besides, you’ll save a fortune on snacks.

Step 10: Eat a hamburger
If God didn’t intend for us to eat animals, he wouldn’t have made them out of meat. You can put your sprouts and tofu on the hamburger, but get some meat into you. You’ll look and feel better than you ever imagined. You can always remind yourself that Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian to get you through this step.

Step 11: Stop re-writing political history
It’s now time to admit that Bill Clinton is a lying-cheating-sexist-racist-rapist jackass, Hillary Clinton is one of the worst role models for women in this country, Al Gore really did lose the 2000 election by every vote tabulation you attempt, Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War and didn’t create the homeless problem, John McCain is not a typical Republican, and Jimmy Carter is a nice man but has one of the worst presidential records of anyone in history.

Step 12: Be a missionary
Once you have completed the previous steps to overcoming Liberalism, it’s time for you to share this awakening with others who are not as fortunate. Go out amongst the Liberal sheep and spread the good word of your freedom from the chains of ignorance that once bound you. Congratulations, and welcome to reality.

Welcome to 2006 and your hangover.

Good morning,
Did you party too much last night?
Does your mouth feel like all the anti-American liberals marched through it?
Does the thought of being president cause you to regurgitate?

When you glanced in the mirror did you resemble the Duke?

Welcome to 2006 and your hangover.
